Collignon Beach is a beach in France facing the English Channel located in the town of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, more precisely in the delegated commune of Tourlaville in the Manche department and in the Normandy region. It is named after the entrepreneur A. Collignon who, from 1889 to 1895, directed the construction works of the East dyke, partially closing the Cherbourg roadstead.
It was on this beach that the first official trotting races in France took place on September 25 and 26, 1836, at the initiative of Éphrem Houël, then director of the Saint-Lô stud farm.
